MEMBERS TO DISH IT UP SATURDAY

Got a hankering for pork and in the mood to bid? The Moore-McDonald VFW Post 8967 can curb your cravings at its annual hog roast Saturday, Feb. 16.

The Winter Texan Smoked Pork Dinner and Auction will include an auction, a prize drawing and pork dinner.

The event will be held at the post home, 311 N. Alister St.

Tickets for the dinner may be bought starting at 10 a.m. the day of the dinner.

The auction will start at noon, with auctioneers Larry Born and Roy Montgomery.

A donation of $7 per plate is requested for the dinner of smoked pork with baked beans and cole slaw. Volunteers will begin serving at 4 p.m. Curbside "to go" orders will be made, and extra parking is available.

Drawing tickets may be purchased in advance at the post home up to the drawing that will be held at 6 p.m.

Prizes include a Compaq laptop computer, a Dynex 32-inch flat screen HDTV, a Kodak digital camera and printer and cash prizes. Tickets cost $2 each or six for $10. It is not necessary to be present to win.

Music by Tequila Sunrise will follow the drawing and continue through 10 p.m.

Donations for the auction may be dropped off at the post home.

Proceeds from the benefit will go to the post scholarships for graduating Port Aransas High School students and for the post's building fund.
