      Port Aransas High School Marlins JV player Kevin Sikes drives through Industrial High School defenders. The Marlins JV ended up losing, 44-34, but the outstanding play of the night belonged to Sikes, who threw the ball almost the full length of the court and sank it at the halftime buzzer. The varsity lost 46-49.

Mixed doubles open to everyone
      Head for the school courts on Station Street on Saturday morning, Jan. 5, for a round robin mixed doubles tennis tournament. Entry fee is a can of new tennis balls - players don't even need a partner. Visitors are especially welcome to join residents for the monthly "just for fun" tournament.
