Risible, irascible Rickles
      Don Rickles was on a TV special not long ago. It was a tribute to this comedian who was born in New York City. If he had stayed there, they would have a much better sense of humor. Without a doubt, he is one of our assets. (He'd gig that statement.) No writers for this guy. It rolls forth from wherever laughter is born. He is a natural.

      The decision by the state Legislature to institute steroid testing at the high school level is questionable at best. What the Legislature hopes to achieve through testing, a steroid free high school, relies on the punishment mentality that seems prevalent in our society as a whole.
