Kiwanis Club holds scholarship golf tourney

Baby, it's cold outside . . .

STAFF PHOTOS BY DAN PARKER Thanksgiving Day started a cold spell that didn't break until mid-week. In the photo above, a determined angler is bundled up against the cold wind blowing at Horace Caldwell Pier on Saturday, Nov. 24. At right, the cold weather didn't deter two champion windsurfers from taking a casual outing at the beach just north of Horace Caldwell Pier on Friday, Nov. 23. As a matter of fact, the gusty winds were part of the attraction for Olivier Jallais, left, a Corpus Christi resident who won the Canadian National Windsurfing Championships in 2000. Bruno Loviat, right, of Houston, won the amateur division of the U.S. Open Windsurfing Regatta in Corpus Christi about 10 years ago. It will still be breezy this weekend, but temperatures are expected to be in the low 80s.
