PG bake sale Saturday

Need some home-baked goodies this weekend and don't have the time or inclination to bake? A solution is available that also will help Port Aransas High School (PAHS) Project Graduation program.

A Thanksgiving bake sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday Nov. 17, at the Family Center IGA, 418 S. Alister St.

Pies, cakes, cookies, pigs in a blanket and more will be tempting patrons, with all proceeds going to the event that will help keep seniors safe after graduation.

Project Graduation is a lock-in party designed to promote chemical-free entertainment for graduating seniors, their guests and juniors. The lock-in begins after graduation exercises and lasts until 5 a.m. The evening includes games, music, refreshments, door prizes and gifts.

"Port A" t-shirts and "A Taste of Our Island" cookbooks produced by the PAHS 2003-04 Junior Class also will be for sale.

Anyone wanting to donate goods may bring them Saturday morning at 8 a.m. or call Renee Gamel 749-1568.
