Homeward bound

The Texas Tall Ship Elissa passes a fishing spot on the Charlie's Pasture bulkhead as she passes through Port Aransas on the way back to Galveston. The Elissa, an 1877 iron-hulled barque, visited Port Aransas the weekend of Oct. 27-28 and was open for tours, and spent the following week at the Port of Corpus Christi. The Elissa was restored and is maintained by volunteers as a historical tribute to the sailing ships of earlier years. She makes a voyage at least once a year.
