Auditions open for 'Mostly True

Six women and six men are needed for main roles in an original musical "The Mostly True History of Port Aransas" to be presented at the Port Aransas Community Theatre.

Auditions will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the theater, 2327 State Hwy. 361

Singers, dancers and actors of various ages will be chosen. Some non-singing and dance-only roles are available.

Contact director Katie Crysup- Sikes for more information at ktcrysup@yahoo.com or (361) 815-5966.

Jane Bull, who wrote the musical, interviewed many long-time Port Aransas residents to get the real stories of the town's past. She put the stories together into a "mostly true" musical. Bull changed the names to protect the innocent and is leaving it up to the audience to decide what is fiction and what is fact.

Jane and Ken Yarbrough wrote several songs for this show that spans 30 years of Port Aransas history beginning in the 1950's.

The musical will be presented Thursday through Saturday, Jan. 17 - Feb. 3.
