Tuesday is meeting for Style Show

Volunteers are being asked to help with the 2008 Style Show produced by the Port Aransas Garden Club.

The annual fashion show will be held Thursday, March 6, at the Civic Center, 710 W. Avenue A.

"Fashions and FlipFlops" is the theme for this year's show.

Refreshments and wine will be served and many island stores will have "boothtiques" set up for onsite shopping enjoyment.

A planning meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 30, to get the ball rolling.

Anyone interested in helping is asked to meet at 10 a.m. at the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church, 200 N. Station St.

"This event is a big moneymaker for the club. We get visitors from all over and we need to shine. We cannot do that without everyone getting involved," said club spokesman Johnie Whisman.
