City still seeking board volunteers

The city is still looking for someone to serve on the Library Board and the Airport Advisory Board.

Three regular positions and the alternate position on the Library Board come open this month when the terms of Gail Swenson, Francelle Lambertson, Betty Turner and Gerry

Wettersten expire.

City council members were willing to make the appointments at the Thursday, Oct. 18, council meeting. Trouble is, only three people applied for the four positions.

Applicants Patsy Grimes, Gary Ramsey and Betsy Churgai were named to the library board with no opposition, but that still leaves the board with no alternate member. The council is encouraging others to apply for that seat.

The council faced the same situation with the Airport Advisory Board: the terms of Burt Jones, Paul Davis, Jon Christensen, and Tonya Clay all expire this month. Jones, Davis and Christensen applied for reappointment and were approved by the council Thursday. Clay did not reapply, leaving the alternate position on the board vacant.

Applications for the board positions are available at city hall, 710 W. Ave. A, and should be returned to Pat Garrett at city hall.
