Beach sculpting slated Saturday
CARVING PUMPKINS

Get out carving utensils and be ready to go to work on the "Pumpkin" Carving on the Beach Saturday, Oct. 27.

Sand sculptors from the area will lead the free event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., without any real pumpkins involved.

The carving will be done on the beach at the end of Avenue G, on a sandy pumpkin instead of the vegetable kind.

Individual creativity is encouraged as each person may carve their own likeness or any other they choose right beside the experts' creations in the pumpkin patch.

The event is sponsored by the City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department.

"Bring the whole family and join in the sandy fun," said assistant director of Parks and Recreation Rachael King.
