Cold front doesn't deter some anglers
      The cold front on Monday slowed fishing somewhat with high winds keeping some boats in dock, but others reported great catches despite weather changes.

      Chris Lauderbackof Universal City caught this 187-pound mako shark on his first time fishing offshore. It also happened to be his birthday. He was fishing aboard the Scat Cat with Capt. Donnie Lueck out of Fisherman's Wharf.

Three tagged reds
      Capt. Doug Stanford and first mate Butch Roe took these anglers on a trip Friday morning, Oct. 19, out of Dolphin Dock. They returned with a nice mess of redfish, three of which were tagged.

Dinner fare
      Merle Halcom and friends from Irving enjoyed a day fishing Thursday, Oct. 18, aboard the Pelican with Capt. John Brennan out of Deep Sea Headquarters. Red snapper, ling and Atlantic sharpnose shark were caught on the 10-hour trip.

Regulars rack up
      These anglers who regularly fish out of Deep Sea Headquarters took a trip Tuesday, Oct. 16, aboard the Kingfisher with Capt. Charlie Kahn. They returned from the 8-hour trip with red snapper, Atlantic sharpnose shark, grouper and kingfish.
