Even a roaring norther couldn't cool the heels of Brundrett Middle School's cross-country runners.
The BMS seventh-grade boys cross-country team took first place in district competition as fall's first real cold front blew in at West Guth Park in Corpus Christi on Monday, Oct. 22.
The eighth-grade boys' team took second place among eighth-grade boys' teams, and the seventh-grade girls' team from BMS took second among seventh-grade girls' teams. Each of the BMS teams was competing against about 10 other teams on the two-mile course.
"The kids stepped up, they really did," said Javier Mendoza, coach of BMS cross-country teams. "I was extremely proud and pleased. They did everything I asked them to do."
