Bake sale Saturday to fund Scout project

A sweet tooth can lead to a Boy Scout earning his Eagle Scout rank this weekend.

Eric Hawes, a member of Port Aransas Boy Scout Troop 29, will have a bake sale to raise money to realize his Eagle Scout project. The project is to renovate the playground at the First Baptist Church of Port Aransas.

The bake sale will be Saturday, Sept. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Family Center IGA, 416 N. Alister St.

Supporters may donate baked goods by bringing them to the sale, buy baked goods, or simply make a cash donation.
