Maurer was born and raised in an agricultural setting in southern Wisconsin, now lives in Flour Bluff, and has been involved in art since childhood. She is continually seeking new avenues of creation through clay.

Stanley, an award winning and nationally-acclaimed artist, was introduced to the world of art at age five. She is a Signature Member of the Texas Watercolor Society. Recently her work was selected for the 2008 publication "Splash 10 - Passionate Strokes".

Art Center for the Islands is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation serving the islands since 1996.
