I'll spell it out for you
Cactus Pryor

I live in Austin, Texas. I also live in Port Aransas. I remember that because I pay taxes to both places.

I make my living in Austin. And I have my best living in Port Aransas when I get there.

Everybody seems to want to live in Austin. We've got eight new employees at the radio station I am with in Austin. They all came from California. I hear that we've got two more new ones coming in from New York. Too many people are hearing that heaven on earth is Austin.

Well, now I'm signing all the AUSTIN mail backwards. I'll be from NITSUA, Texas.

Now there are those Austinians, or Austinites, who would like to rename Austin to keep from overcrowding our city. One name that is being considered is Taxville. But that's too obvious. It wasn't too long ago that a group of Austin folks wanted to rename our town Aggieville. But that would be too painful for us old Austin folk.

I did receive one call from one Austin citizen who asked why we don't change our name to Port Aransas II, because Port Aransas is loved almost as much as Austin. I said, "If you start that, I'll name you Adios Ville."

No, we are growing faster that a tarpon heading toward Niagara Falls.

I'm just sticking to my new name. That's SUTCAC ROYRP.

Cactus Pryor is an Austin radio personality, humorist and author.
