Bells will be ringing students back to class
COME MONDAY

School bells will ring in Port Aransas on Monday, Aug. 27. Teachers have been on the job since Aug. 20, and principals were in their offices as of Aug. 7.

H.G. Olsen Elementary School students must report for class at 8 a.m. and will be considered tardy after the bell at 8:05 a.m.

Lunches are staggered with the first one starting at 10:45 a.m. and the last lunch ending at 12:45 p.m.

Students in the morning pre-kindergarten class will be dismissed at 11 a.m. The afternoon pre-k class starts at 12:15 p.m.

Kinder and afternoon pre-k students will be dismissed at 3:05 p.m. All other grades will be dismissed at 3:15 p.m.

Brundrett Middle School students will start the day at 7:52 a.m., and the tardy bell will ring at 7:57 a.m.

Lunches will be staggered. Sixth grade students will have lunch from 11:13 to 11:43 a.m. Seventh and eight grade students will have lunch from 12:02 to 12:37 p.m.

The campus is closed, so students must eat lunch on campus or get permission to leave with their parents or guardians.

Dismissal for all grades is at 3:17 p.m.

Port Aransas High School students should report to class at 7:55 a.m. and are tardy after the 8 a.m. bell rings. Second period begins at 8:51 a.m., third starts at 9:42 a.m., and fourth starts at 10:30 a.m. After the lunch break, fifth period starts at noon, sixth at 12:51 p.m., seventh at 1:42 p.m. and eighth at 2:33 p.m.

Freshmen are required to remain on campus for lunch, which will be from 11:20 a.m. to noon.

The campus is open for sophomores, juniors and seniors, but parents must sign a release form in advance in order for their child to be allowed off campus for lunch. The lunch break for sophomores, juniors and seniors also is from 11:20 a.m. to noon.

Dismissal is at 3:20 p.m.

Tutorials will be held each school day before classes from 7:40 to 8 a.m., and after school from 3:22 to 3:40 p.m.
