COAST GUARD STATION PORT ARANSAS

SATURDAY, AUGUST 11 9:02 p.m. The station responded to a mayday call of a vessel that struck the south jetty and ejected a passenger onto the rocks. A station 23-foot response boat and a vehicle from the station responded. The injured man was removed from the jetties and placed on the 23-foot response boat and transferred to the station where he was treated by local Emergency Medical Service and transferred by HALO Flight to the trauma center. The vessel was removed from the jetties on Sunday morning.
