Colorful kayaks
A kayaking class spangles the water with color near the State Hwy. 361 causeway between Port Aransas and Aransas Pass on a sunny day recently. The class was learning to handle the bright watercraft under the auspices of the Boys and Girls Club of Corpus Christi. Instructor is Jim Needham, of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi's division of community outreach. TAMU-CC runs several kayaing camps over the summer, and each one will visit the shallow waters north of Port Aransas.
