Ready 'fore' golf course
Cactus Pryor

I'm waiting. I'm thinking. I'm wanting. I'm talking. About what? The forthcoming golfing course on Mustang Island. I can't drive by without thinking, "Gee, what a fine addition to Port A. It will add golf to our island of fishing, swimming, picnicking, sand sculpturing and many more enticements.

Now this, of course, is not my hinting that I would be every joyous to have access to this well-designed addition to our lovely island of pleasure.

Not at all.

This is simply saying that the forthcoming golfing place will be another attraction for those who play the game of golf, the one sport that beautifies rather than "uglifies."

No, I am not using my little column to, perhaps, be invited to, uh, utilize the golfing course for my pleasure. No, not at all. This report is simply my way to pass on to you readers this new addition to our little island.

At my age, golfing is mostly just a memory. Oh, I can still find some pleasure in participating in the game of golf. But, no, this is simply an attitude regarding my favorite sport.

But enough of this. My next column will be about my favorite recipe for Yellow Tailed Ringling Dingling Cod.

Tally ho-or fore! Cactus Pryor is an Austin radio personality and author.
