Second art camp to start

Looking for a creative outlet for your kids? Send them to Youth Art Camp and watch them blossom.

Another session will be held Monday through Friday, June 25-29., at the Art Center for the Islands, 323 N. Alister St.

Registration by Saturday, June 23 is required. Registration can be made at the art center.

Camp time is from 1 to 3:30 p.m. each day. The cost is $20 for the week.

Marilyn Cook, Youth Camp director is looking forward to young people joining her for afternoons that are "creative, fun and inspiring".

"Come and share an artful summer working with landscapes, portraits, seascapes, cityscapes and still life. Study these techniques and create your own art using paint, paper, model magic, print making and collage," said Cook.

Also on the agenda are gallery tours, guest instructors, snacks and time to create.

Children with special needs are welcome, if accompanied by an adult during the camp sessions. Scholarships also are available at the art center.
