PASTOR'S PEN
Life is good

As I was thinking about what to write for this week, and praying that (editor) Mary (Judson) wouldn't shoot me for being late - again -- I thought about what has been going over in my mind and coming out of my mouth: "Life is good."

For those of us who are Christians, those who love God and know that God loves us, life should be good for us and to us. Now, not every day of my life is a box of chocolate, but I do live a good life.

There is a brand of t-shirts that I like to wear called Life is Good, and their slogan is "Do what you like, like what you do." So, of course, being a preacher, I thought there is a message in that somewhere that will preach and be good for this article. So, not only should life be good, but we should like what we do, like who we are and like what we are becoming.

For me, life is too short to be negative, down in the dumps and depressed. I don't know about you, but God has been so good to me that I choose to look at the positive side of life. In the Bible in Proverbs 18:21, it says that power and life are in the tongue. That's MOV (My Own Version). So, what this means to me is that when I start speaking in a positive manner, start believing in a positive way, then things are positive in my life.

When I get around people who tend to be negative, I challenge them to be positive. I make it a mission sometimes to get people to be positive instead of negative. You may think I'm crazy, so join the crowd, but life is good.

If your life is not good at the moment, then you have the ability to change your life. You are the only one who can change you. I can tell someone how to change, but until they decide that they want to change, things stay the way they are.

So, maybe you don't think your life is good - well, change it. Ask God to help you change what needs to be changed. God will help you do anything that He can as long as it lines up with what it says in the Bible.

So, you can have a good life, you can like who you are and what you will become. By the power of the words that come out of your mouth, things can change. Remember….life is good and God loves you. Do what you like, like what you do.
