Greene 'threepeats' on race circuit

Pappy Greene took over the points lead Saturday, June 9, after winning a heat race, an Australian Pursuit and the feature race at CC Speedway.

The racer from Port Aransas Motor Sports is on a roll this season, with six wins, two seconds and one third so far.

"It sure is nice to be up front again," Greene said. "After not racing a full season for 12 years and to come back and be competitive, I'm having a blast."

Greene races every Saturday at CC Speedway, a quarter-mile oval asphalt track he raced on in the early 1990s.

His No. 13 "Mean Greene Machine" Mustang GT attracts fans with his signature wind-up key that turns as he laps the track, his swaying tail on the back and his racing style.

Islanders are invited to come cheer for Greene as he continues to race.

The team is sponsored by Pappy Motive Services and the South Jetty newspaper and would gladly take on more sponsors. Anyone interested in sponsorship may contact Greene at (361) 443- 4683.
