Guided tour tomorrow
Enjoy walk, find beach treasures, have identification help

Residents and visitors are invited to learn about what washes ashore on Mustang Island thanks to prevailing southeast breezes.

A guided beach walk sponsored by the Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department will reveal the secrets of the sea, Friday, May 25.

The free walk will start at 9 a.m. by the red flag next to Horace Caldwell Pier.

Leading the walk will be Capt. Steve Zarych.

Rachael King, assistant director of the Parks and Recreation Department, which sponsors the walks, said, "This is a great time of year for shelling. Don't miss it."

The walks are held on the fourth Friday of each month.

Beach walkers should wear appropriate shoes and clothing and bring a container for any treasurers found.

For further information, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 749-4158.
