Expansion project remains in distant future

      Don't plan on dropping 50 cents in the basket and whizzing down the Island Road several feet above other traffic any time in the near future. "There is absolutely nothing new on the State Hwy. 361 project," said Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) engineer Mike Walsh this week.

Services held for former constable
      Former Nueces County Pct. 4 Constable Ben Alvin Cash died Thursday, April 12, 2007. He had been a resident of Port Aransas for the past 38 years. Cash was born on July 10, 1926, in Orange City, Fla., to Raymond and Gladys Cash. Cash served in the United States Navy and United States Army.
