Raffle tickets still available
Win a Texas theme golf cart

A little time remains to purchase a ticket to win the Texas theme golf cart being raffled by the Kiwanis Club in Port Aransas. Tickets are $5 and all proceeds go to scholarships for graduating Port Aransas High School students and other youth educational projects.

The drawing will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Jay's Seafood and Spaghetti Works, 710 State Hwy. 361. Although the winner need not be present to win, the public is invited to see the lucky ticket drawn.

The street-legal electric "dream cart" was donated by Don Arnold, owner of The Cart Store, on State Hwy. 35 between Aransas Pass and Rockport, according to club member Rita Reed.

Tickets may be bought at Gratitude, 316 N. Station St., or by calling Kiwanis members including Reed, at 749-5379, Johnie Whisman at 749- 1813, Pete Hartje at 749-7632 or Jana Snow at 749-4939.

The cart is used, but has been rebuilt and customized with jacked-up mag wheels and knobby-studded tires that handle sandy conditions well. It also has a Texas flag-style paint job, a folding back seat and chrome bumpers.
