Gulp a fresh oyster, catch a local band, help Project Grad Free food and music are in store for those attending the second annual Port Aransas oyster party. It will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 31, and will be held at the Fred Rhodes Pavilion in Roberts Point Park. The event is a fundraiser to help fund Project Graduation. While admission and food are free, organizers hope revelers will buy t-shirts and make donations in appreciation of the free party. For $20, a tie-dyed t-shirt may be obtained to commemorate the event, with proceeds going to Project Graduation. Oysters on the half shell, oyster po' boys, oysters Diablo, oysters Rockefeller and more are on the menu. The band Triggerfish will perform from 5 to 8 p.m., then Wolfjaw will play from 8:30 p.m. to midnight. Attendees are invited to bring their own beverages. Project Graduation is a lock-in party designed to promote chemical free entertainment for graduating seniors, their guests and juniors. The lock-in begins after Port Aransas High School graduation in May and lasts until 5 a.m. The evening includes games, music, refreshments, door prizes and gifts. |
