CCA is outclassed by fiesty, mighty Marlins
BY DAN PARKER SOUTH JETTY REPORTER

The Port Aransas High School Marlins whipped an overmatched Corpus Christi Academy team, 50-20.

The game was on Friday, Feb. 2, in Corpus Christi.

The Corpus Christi Academy Cavaliers were able to field a team of only five players this game. The Marlins, by contrast, had plenty of substitutes, wearing the Cavaliers down and vastly outscoring them, despite problems the Marlins suffered on offense.

"We didn't shoot the ball well but played well together," said Mark Spencer, coach of the Marlins. "Defense was better, and we tried to extend in a man-to-man half-court pressure."

The Marlins' season record was 7-21 after the game. Their district record was 3-3.
