PACT stages musical through Feb. 24

Enjoy music and dancing by 20 local performers at the musical review, "We Love to See You Smile".

"Smile" will continue its run tonight, Thursday, Feb. 8, through Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Port Aransas Community Theatre (PACT), 2327 State Hwy. 361.

The musical will be presented again Thursdays through Saturdays, Feb. 15-17, and 22-24, at 7:30 p.m. A 2:30 p.m. matinee will be performed on Sunday, Feb. 18.

Jane Bull, longtime PACT performer and former USO singer and dancer, directs, choreographs, arranges music and performs in the program she created.

The duo of Bull and Katie Crysup Sikes may be making its last production together, as Bull plans to move to San Antonio soon to be near family.

The audience will be treated to more than 30 songs from 18 Broadway musicals, including "Sleepless in Seattle", "Lion King", "Fiddler on the Roof", "Jersey Boys", "Guys and Dolls", "Cats" and "Annie".

The cast features a mix of veteran performers and newcomers to PACT.

Tickets sales for the 13 performances are expected to be brisk, so PACT officials recommend making reservations early.

Tickets may be purchased or reservations made at the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce-Tourist Bureau, 403 W. Cotter Ave., from Monday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to p.m., and at the Chamber South/Theatre Box Office, 2327 State Hwy. 361, on Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to p.m. on Saturdays.

Theater representatives stressed the need to make reservations and pay for tickets at the same location to avoid confusion and double booking.
