Citywide garage sale set March 3 Got stuff taking up space you need? Keep Port Aransas Beautiful (KPAB) is accepting donations and renting tables for its annual citywide garage sale. The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 3, at the Community Center and at individual sites all around Port Aransas. The Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department is a partner in this endeavor. Private individuals wanting to sell items may rent a table inside the Community Center for $10 from KPAB. The number of tables is limited, so early registration is suggested. Call event chairman Betsy Churgai at (361) 779-0980 (leave name and number) by Thursday, March 1, to book a table. Payment should be mailed to KPAB Garage Sale, P.O. Box 595, Port Aransas, TX 78373. The Community Center will be open from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 2, for vendors to set up. Sellers are responsible for removal of all unsold items after the sale. Residents are encouraged to hold sales the same day. Individual sale sites will be included in the map listing all registered sites. Call Rachael King at 749-4158 to list a site. KPAB is accepting gently used items to sell but will not accept big furniture items. To donate, call Churgai. This event is held each year in an effort to raise awareness about the importance of reducing, recycling, reusing and rebuying, which reduces the amount of refuse in landfills. KPAB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a Keep America Beautiful and Keep Texas Beautiful affiliate. Proceeds will be used to promote activities fulfilling the mission of the organization. |
