KPAB citywide sale offers tables for rent

Table reservations are available, and donations are being accepted for the annual Keep Port Aransas Beautiful (KPAB) citywide garage sale. The sale will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Community Center and at individual sites all around Port Aransas. The Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department is a partner in this endeavor.

Those wanting to sell items not at their home may rent a table inside the Community Center for $10 from KPAB. This will enable anyone wanting to join in the sale, but with no place to hold one, to participate. The number of tables is limited, so early registration is suggested. Call event chairman Betsy Churgai at (361) 779-0980 (leave name and number) by Thursday, Feb. 1, to book a table. Payment may be mailed to KPAB, P.O. Box 595, Port Aransas, TX 78373. Payments must include the words garage sale on the check and on the outside of the envelope.

The Community Center will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, for set up. Sellers are responsible for removal of all unsold items after the sale.

Residents are encouraged to hold sales the same day. Individual sale sites will be included in the map listing all registered sites. Call Rachael King at 749-4158 to list a site.

KPAB will accept donations of unwanted items, excluding big furniture items.

This event is held each year in an effort to raise awareness about the importance of recycling, reusing and rebuying, which reduces the amount of refuse in landfills.

KPAB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a Keep America Beautiful and Keep Texas Beautiful affiliate.

Proceeds will be used to promote activities fulfilling the mission of the organization.
