Challenge TV show to air Saturday
A team of four Port Aransas High School students lost to a Corpus Christi high school team in a game show-style academic competition televised on Monday, Dec. 17
The PAHS students lost, 245-110, to Carroll High School, in the game show called "Challenge!" on KEDT public television. A repeat of the show with the Port Aransas team is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22.
The "Challenge!" format is similar to the nationally syndicated television game show "Jeopardy!"
"Challenge!" pits area high school teams in a tournament-style competition. Teams that win move on to more competitions until a tournament winner is decided.
The show involving the Port Aransas and Carroll teams already was taped before a live audience at the KEDT studios in Corpus Christi prior several weeks before the episode aired.
The Port Aransas team members who competed were seniors Evan Arnold, Eric Hawes, Stephanie Megan Jones and sophomore John Sanchez. Alternates were John Eggleston, a sophomore; and Chloe Tugwell, junior.
