STAFF PHOTO BY STEPHANIE KENIGSBERG Rapid reversal Rebecca Armanovs of the Port Aransas High School Lady Marlins reverses direction during a game at Ingleside High School on Dec. 17. The Ingleside High School Lady Mustangs beat the Port Aransas High School Lady Marlins, 54-47, in what the Lady Marlins' coach said was Ingleside's best game of the year.

"They executed offensively and beat us on the boards," Lady Marlins Coach Randy Henderson said of the Dec. 17 game on Ingleside's home court.

The Lady Marlins battled back from a 13-point deficit to cut Ingleside 's lead to 3, but that was as far as the comeback went.

"Give Ingleside credit," Henderson said. "They were 14 of 15 from the free-throw line. … It's hard to complete a comeback on a team that shoots that well from the line."

But Henderson said he was pleased with how the Lady Marlins came back in the second half.

"We played hard and well," Henderson said. "A non-district loss like this one can be a good growing and learning experience."
