Banks, others curb services for holidays

Holiday hours will be in effect, and vary, at banks and public offices in Port Aransas.

City hall will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Dec. 24 and 25, as well as New Year's Day.

Allied Waste will not collect trash on Christmas Day or New Year's Day.

The business office of the Nueces County Water Control and Improvement District No. 4 will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as well as New Year's Day. In an emergency, customers may call the regular office number, 749-5201, and the call will be routed to the employee on call.

The Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce- Tourist Bureau will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 22, through Tuesday, Dec. 25.

Holiday banking hours vary by bank.

At American Bank, the lobby and drive-through will be open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and closed on Christmas Day. Regular hours will be in place New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

The drive-through at ValueBank Texas will be open on Christmas Eve from 7:15 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the lobby will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bank will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Regular hours will be observed on New Year's Eve.

Prosperity Bank's drive-through and lobby will be open on Christmas Eve from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The bank will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Regular hours will be in effect on New Year's Eve.
