The musical will be performed Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the Community Presbyterian Church. Sims, playing the mayor (Dreessen) here, is telling the kids the annual Christmas production cannot be performed on Main St. this year. "Nothing warms the heart like watching kids sing and act, so come on down and get heated up at Children 's Christmas Musical," said Deanne Sims.
The annual musical performance this year, "Miracle on Main Street", will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18. It will begin at 7 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church, 113 S. Alister
Older elementary school and middle school students will perform the play written by Celeste Clydesdale. David Clydesdale did the arranging, and the script is by Mark Davis and Celeste Clydesdale.
The play is set in an election year about a mayor who decides not to allow the children to perform their Christmas production in the town square on Main Street. The children carols and asking residents to call the mayor on their behalf.
The Sonshine choir makes up the nucleus of the performers, and they are "just precious", said Sims.
"The messages are subtle but effective, as the true meaning of Christmas is sought in the play," she said.
The production is free, and everyone is invited.
