Parking lot prank


Jim Cole, longtime band director at Brundrett Middle School and Port Aransas High School, poses next to his parking space at PAHS. Cole, who has been band director at Port Aransas schools for 36 years, has joked for quite a while now that a certain unlabeled parking space close to the high school's front door is his, even though it never officially has been assigned to him. On Friday, Nov. 30, he pulled up at PAHS and found that some of school district's maintenance workers jokingly had bequeathed the spot to him by painting the words "RESERVED FOR RAGGEDY 'OLD' BAND DIRECTOR" on the pavement.
