New PAHS Key Club hits ground running
The newly formed Port Aransas High School Key Club has hit the ground running with projects completed, others being conducted and more planned.
The group held a bake sale last Saturday and now is holding a "Sock It To 'Em" drive collecting socks, warm hats and gloves for the homeless in Corpus Christi. Collection boxes are at the high school for those wanting to donate.
For a Thanksgiving service project, club members will go to neighborhoods in Port Aransas Sunday, Nov. 11, and leave an empty bag at the front door with instructions to fill with non-perishable foods. They will collect the bags Sunday, Nov. 18, and deliver the goods to the Port Aransas Helping Hands Food Pantry.
According to the Kiwanis Club, the Key Club is the largest high school service leadership organization in the world. The international motto of Key Clubs is "Caring: Our Way of Life".
