Put on your thinking hats and get ready to be creative. The City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department has announced the theme for the 2007 Holiday Forest.

Trees will be decorated to resemble or reflect the Fruits of Christmas. The forest will be held in the Civic Center, 710 W. Ave. A.

It will be open Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 17-26. Decoration set-up for all entries will be on Sunday, Dec. 16.

All businesses, families, civic groups and individuals are invited to participate.

"Gather up your family, friends or organization buddies and make it a friendly, fun party, while joining in a community event,' said assistant director of Parks and Recreation Rachael King.

"Then bring everyone you know to enjoy everyone's handiwork," she said.

The annual event is held to increase community members' involvement with each other and to provide another activity for residents and visitors to enjoy during the holiday.
