The cross-country meet in Calallen on Saturday, Oct. 13, was one of the best races of the year for the Port Aransas High School Lady Marlins team, according to coach Steve Reaves.

"The only schools that beat us were 4-A and 5-A varsity teams," said Reaves, who also is athletic director at PAISD. "We finished first among the 3-A-and-below varsities."

The team will compete in its first district meet on Monday, Oct. 22, at West Guth Park in Corpus Christi.
