A mixed doubles tennis tournament on Saturday, Oct. 6, is open to residents and visitors alike.

It will be held at the school courts on Station Street. Players should be there to sign up by 7:45 a.m. Matches begin at 8 a.m.

Entry fee is a can of new tennis balls - players don't even need a partner.

Players should be prepared to play until about noon and should bring water, although there is a water fountain nearby.

Partners are matched randomly, and the format depends upon the number of players participating.

The tournament is sponsored by the Port Aransas Tennis Association and is part of a series of tournaments held on the first Saturday of each month.
