An invitation has been issued to all boys in first through 12th grade; join Boy Scout Troop 29.

The sign up will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, at 6:30 p.m.

Parents are asked to bring boys to the Scout hut, located behind Community Presbyterian Church, 113 S. Alister St.

There is an $11 fee to join that includes insurance coverage for all Scouting events. The Scout will not have to pay the fee again as long as he stays with the troop.

Parents interested in helping by becoming a Scout leader or just helping with certain activities also may sign up that night.

"We got a few leaders at the meeting last week, but can use a few more," said Scout leader Leslie Willey Jr.

The Jerry McDonald Foundation sponsors the Port Aransas Scouting program.
