BMS team makes more progress with each stride
      Brundrett Middle School crosscountry runners are making strides, and it showed at a cross-country meet held Saturday, Sept. 15, at Malaquite Beach. Schools from all over South Texas competed in the meet, which was sponsored by Flour Bluff High School.

CROSS-COUNTRY GIRLS WIN AT MALAQUITE BEACH MEET
      The Port Aransas High School girls' varsity cross-country team took first place in division 1A- 3A teams at a meet at Malaquite Beach. The meet sponsored by Flour Bluff High School took place on Saturday, Sept. 15. "I am real pleased with the effort and the progress that has been made since we started in August," said Steve Reaves, athletic director at PAHS.

      As the 2007 season gets underway tomorrow, Sept. 21, the Port Aransas Soccer League (PAYSL) board presents an award of appreciation to Ken Dunton, second from left, for starting the Soccer League in 1987 and for continuing with it until 2006. the recognition includes all of his hard work in raising the number of PAYSL players from 30 players to more than 100.
