Texas straw poll roundly ignored
      The Texas Republican Party's straw poll in Fort Worth recently cleared up several things. First, to the question of "Who is Duncan Hunter?" the answer is, "Winner of the Texas Republican straw poll," with 41 percent.

      Just as the city must plan for a second ferry landing to accommodate the additional traffic that will follow the developments under construction and on the drawing board, the city also must plan for accommodating the vehicles that will come with that development.

Deadline a prickly subject for Cactus
      Even before I reached my teens, I was aiming my cap guns at the bad guys who were trying to shoot Tom Mix, Hoot Gibson, Ken Maynard -- my heroes. I knew that the good guys always beat the bad guys, but the teen years brought reality via the news reels in all the theatres, the morning and evening newspapers, the radio and, for some, the television.

      Poor service We own a condo at the Pelican Condominium, and I am on the board of directors. I have filed a protest on the property tax increase. However, I have contacted the appraisal district about not getting a response or call on my protest.
