The interview came as a tropical wave in the Gulf of Mexico was forming into Tropical Storm Erin. Erin was forecast to make landfall at Corpus Christi sometime Thursday, Aug. 16. Erin is expected to generate high tides and rain through Friday, Aug. 17, with some isolated thunderstorms lingering on Saturday, Aug. 18.
