Summer fishing great despite super rainfall
Anglers at Dolphin Dock caught big sharks, Ernest Scott reported. Red snapper limits, African pompano, grouper, kingfish, barracuda, ling and vermilion snapper were caught.
Felicia Montgomery of Deep Sea Headquarters said snapper, barracuda and shark were the main catches last week. The headliner was a 150- pound sandbar shark.
Catches of redfish, whiting and several species of shark were reported by Luci Krause from the Pier House on Horace Caldwell Pier. Evening catches of speckled trout were snared with lures and shrimp.

Offshore Adventures, Beverly Stapleton said. Baits most used were live shrimp, piggy perch and croaker.
Shark are being caught in the surf, Sandra Fudge of Woody's Sports Center reported. In the bays, black drum, speckled trout and pompano are being caught. On the Island Queen anglers are pulling in big gafftop and big sandtrout. Offshore, fishermen are reeling in shark and grouper.
Red and vermilion snapper, king mackerel, wahoo, ling, dorado and shark are being caught by anglers out of Fisherman's Wharf, said John McNatt. The Jetty Boat is taking fishermen and women to the north jetty, and they are catching redfish and trout.
