      They find it hard to believe they even have to inquire. But two of Texas House Speaker Tom Craddick's former team members have asked Attorney General Greg Abbott whether and how they can remove him as speaker.

Let's review letters; e-mail update
      We pride ourselves on our Letters to the Editor policy that just about guarantees all letters are published. We do have limits, however. We limit length for obvious reasons, and we send cards of thanks and letters that amount to free advertising to the appropriate advertising department.

Okra brings out the giggles - now
      It was the prospect for moments like this that, a year ago, my wife and I moved to be near our daughter and son-in-law for the arrival of our first grandchild. I had the opportunity to introduce Charles to okra last weekend. OK, to be perfectly honest, I think he may have eaten okra before. If so, it still did not diminish the experience.

      I'm waiting. I'm thinking. I'm wanting. I'm talking. About what? The forthcoming golfing course on Mustang Island. I can't drive by without thinking, "Gee, what a fine addition to Port A. It will add golf to our island of fishing, swimming, picnicking, sand sculpturing and many more enticements.

      No more Mr. Nice Guy At last, our city manager and councilmen have quit being the "nice guys," and as the "firing squad," are demanding a reality check. The appraisal district is about to kill the spirit of all of us regular people who are about to drown in the fast rising demands for more and more money.
