Variety show on stage Saturday
"Get your S's on Stage" performances continue at the Port Aransas Community Theatre (PACT). All events will be held at the theater, 2327 State Hwy. 361.
Saturday, June 16, the S's performers will be Shirley Fischer and the Fischer Nuts Band, Marion Fersing with a comedy and piano bit, John Fucik and Collin Barr with a comedy and music skit, Alan Gardiner-Atkinson as a dramatic storyteller, Dana Pope singing original music and Marsha Owen and Ken Yarbrough performing original compositions.
The performance will be held at 7:30 p.m., and admission for the open seating is $5.
The final S's show will be Sunday, June 24, when the Stein Mart Seniors Fashion Show at 2:30 p.m., will feature PACT Port Aransas High School seniors and more mature seniors from Mustang and Padre islands modeling fashions from the clothing store combined with skits and scenes. Included with this performance are Texas cakes, iced tea and door prizes.
A parody of the "Carol Burnett Variety Show" will be performed with fashions complementing the entertainment segments.
The skits will be titled "At The Office", "Mama's House", "Annie", "South Pacific", "Ladies of the Mop" and "Gone With The Wind".
The performers/models will be Tanya Chambers, Betty Crawford, Laura Crocker, Marion Fersing, Phyllis Layne, Bill McKinney, Marsha Owen, Marg Paton, Pepper Pendzinski, Dana Pope and Ken Yarbrough.
Marg Paton directs the show, and the technical director is Larry Paton.
Tickets are $7 and sold only at the theater door 45 minutes prior to curtain time.
