Although this proved true for racing at CC Speedway Saturday, June 2, Pappy Greene of Port Aransas was able to bring his stock car home unscathed.

The Port Aransas Motor Sports No. 13 driver took the checkered flag and win in the heat race and came in second in the feature.

"All night long it was a wreckfest. I was lucky enough to not be involved in any of the seemingly endless wrecks, and able to bring the mean Greene Ford Mustang home in the same shape it left the island," Greene said.

"Kermit was giving good directions that kept me safe," he said of mascot and co-pilot, Kermit the Frog, who in his own driving suit, seat and harness, rides along inside the racecar.

Greene invites everyone to attend the stock car racing every Saturday night in Corpus Christi and cheer him on to victory.

Greene is sponsored by Pappy Motive Services and the South Jetty newspaper.
