Enjoy music outdoors at free concert

Pack a cooler with a picnic supper and icy-cold beverages and head for Roberts Point Park tomorrow, Friday, June 8, for an evening of country and western music.

Tumble Dry Low is doing the honors for this month's installment of Sunset Sounds, a series of outdoors concerts sponsored by the Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department.

The free concert will be at 7 p.m at the Patsy Jones Amphitheater at Roberts Point Park overlooking the Corpus Christi Ship Channel.

Tumble Dry Low formed in the summer of 2004. The group features Brian Kasik on rhythm guitar and vocals, Odis Gaines on bass guitar and vocals, Johnny Rinehart on lead guitar and vocals as well as John Beatty on the drums.

Together they produce a mix of old and new country tunes with a little attitude thrown in. Their music reflects influences ranging from George Jones and Merle Haggard to Jack Ingram and Pat Green. Some of their original music is also thrown into the fray.

Sunset Sounds concerts are held on the second Friday of the month from April through October. Music lovers are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on as well as snacks and beverages.

The rest of the 2007 schedule will feature the following musicians:

July 13 - Perry Wing Band Aug. 10 - Buck 298 Sept. 14 - Carol Elliot Oct. 12 - Triggerfish
