PAEF funds school Alamo trip

Fourth-graders from H.G. Olsen Elementary School went to San Antonio to visit the Alamo Monday, May 14.

The trip was made possible for the students of Clare Adams and Gina McKeever courtesy of a grant from the Port Aransas Education Foundation (PAEF) for that purpose.

It paid for a chartered bus, tickets to the IMAX Theatre to watch the movie, "Alamo, The Price of Freedom" and provided each student with a movie snack.

"We had a great time watching the students as Texas history was brought to life for them," said Adams.

"After a year's worth of studies, the students were able to connect names and events in a real world setting. It was a great experience and a big thanks goes out to PAEF for making this field trip possible," she said.
