The Port Aransas Community Park Pool re-opens for business tomorrow, Friday, May 18.
The pool has been closed for repairs since Monday, April 2.
Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department director Gary Mysorski called the pool "good as new".
The peeling surface of the pool's apron and cracks around the skimmer throats have been repaired, as well as the cracks in the pool's drains at the bottom, and the separation of the plaster lining from the concrete shell designed to support the structure.
Paradise Pools of Agua Dulce was the company that made the repairs.
The money for the repairs comes from the budget of the city's Recreational Development Corporation (RDC), which oversees the spending of a half-cent sales tax for recreational purposes.
The pool, in its ninth season, was in the median age for repairs, which usually ranges from eight to 10 years.
Pool hours are Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.
Water exercise classes are held Tuesdays through Fridays from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Lap swimming is available all day when the pool is open and exclusively from noon to 1 p.m.
Open swimming is scheduled from 1 to 6 p.m.
The pool is closed on Mondays.
These hours are in effect until Memorial Day weekend, when summer hours will go into effect, said Harriet Layne, the city's recreation specialist in charge of the pool.
For more information, call the pool at 749-2416.
The park is under the jurisdiction of the city's Parks and Recreation Department.
